DGNB PLATINUM FOR “AM POSTBAHNHOF 15” – A MILESTONE IN SUSTAINABLE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
October 2025 — Great news: Our project Am Postbahnhof 15 has been honored as an outstanding development that consistently combines high architectural standards with ecological and economic responsibility. At Expo Real 2025 in Munich, the building ensemble officially received the DGNB Platinum Certificate — the highest level in the German Sustainable Building Council’s rating system.
For us at econcept Immobilien und Projektentwicklung KG, this award is more than a formal achievement. It confirms a development approach that has been focused from the very beginning on long-term quality, adaptability, and resource conservation. Together with our project partners, we have created a place within the Mediaspree district that meaningfully connects new construction with listed historic structures.
A key focus was on ecological solutions. The energy concept uses waste heat intelligently by feeding it into a local supply network. This is complemented by a comprehensive rainwater management system: A large portion of precipitation is retained on roof and terrace areas, improving the microclimate and significantly reducing the demand for freshwater in the outdoor spaces. This concept was already recognized in 2024 by the Berliner Regenwasseragentur as an exemplary solution.
The successful certification is the result of close, interdisciplinary collaboration. Our thanks go to all planning offices and specialist engineers who expertly guided and shaped the demanding sustainability process — from architecture and landscape design to engineering and lighting.
And finally: Am Postbahnhof 15 demonstrates that ambitious sustainability goals and urban project development are not mutually exclusive. We see the DGNB Platinum certification as an incentive to continue pursuing this path consistently in our future projects.
